Städa Sverige needs a website to be able to inform the Swedish people (and the rest of the world) about their background, goals, current projects, campaigns, activities, sponsors, available jobs, contact information etc... In other words: the website exists to increase the awareness of the largest environmental campaign for Swedish sports clubs and associations. It also functions as a channel towards getting more volunteers (sports clubs and associations) and is a very cost-effective way to spread the message of Städa Sverige (in comparison to print, TV or other channels...).
No, they don't need a blog on their website, but the time when Wordpress was considered "just a blogging platform" is long gone and today it is much more than that - a powerful open-source CMS-tool. Here's some good examples of what I mean:

Thanks Emil, i already understood everything you wrote. But i need to understand, why they need a web site? To get more volunteers, or maybe find new sponsors, or just to show to the whole world that they do a good thing =)

the main goal for the redesign of www.stadasverige.se is that the current website feels outdated and old in both graphical and user-friendly ways...
The client also wishes to build the new site in Wordpress, and therefore the new webdesign ideas should be prepared for implementation and execution in this CMS tool.

Updated: Just receieved an answer from Städa Sverige: "Yes, it's ok to completely change the logo, as long as the core elements (the brand values of Städa Sverige and the yellow bag) still remain in some form".
