In 1946 Warren Avis opened the world's first airport car rental location at Willow Run Airport, Detroit, with a grand total of three cars. Today, Avis worldwide operates in over 4,000 locations in 114 countries. Energy, enthusiasm, innovative industry leadership and an ethos of continuous improvement have characterised the company for many years.
In 1963 Avis boldly launched a new advertising campaign ... 'We're only No.2. We try harder'... now acknowledged as one of the 10 best advertising slogans of all time and embedded as the very essence of the company's culture. The campaign brings Avis back into the black after many years in the red.
Avis Sweden was established in 1966. Today we offer a nationwide network, with over 80 key sites on 111 rental locations offering personal service, including all major airport and city areas. We continuously aim to “Exceed customers expectations” through our core USP “We Try Harder”. We buy cars from all manufacturers, all models and sizes, this to ensure that our customers always have the best product range to chose from.
We are a full service company offering a wide range of products and services, from weekend rentals to corporate agreements. We also offer ancillary products such as insurances, GPS and DVD-systems.
Our CSR-strategies and processes are closely connected towards our environment. We aim to continuously reduce the impact on our environment and therefore we offer a range of “eco-actions”, e.g. a carbon offset program and eco-fleet. Our whole organisation, including station network and head office, are ISO 14001-certified.
