Hi Mad Mike, I deleted your first question (in Swedish) so that all our creatives can read it, not just the swedish ones... Hope that was OK...? ;-)

Anyway, I understand your point, but unfortunately you have to upload an image + thumbnail to your pitch simply because of the design and structural demands of the new Mypitch.com. To clarify: the site would look pretty boring and lifeless, and not very inspiring, if it just contained a variety of text and links without any images (eg, the page "Pitches" would look very dull indeed...) so therefore we took the decision, when we created the "new Mypitch.com 2.0" in the beginning of 2010, that these images simply must be mandatory.

But, I would like to mention that it's entirely possible (and preferable?) to use and upload the same image for both the "large- and thumbnail version", which may make this process a bit easier for you.

Also, the "theme" or "content" of the image is not that important for this brief, since it's the ideas/synopsis that really counts (as you correctly point out), so if you're having trouble finding a suitable image, just upload the next best thing that comes to mind (or borrow one from Google or Flickr? With the photographer's permission that is... ;-) )

Why must I upload pictures/images when there is synopsis Dressmann wants to have?

/M

Hi Xgeronimo, got an answer from Dressmann: "There's no available slogans, taglines or payoffs for the "Man Underwear" brand/product, but you're more than welcome to create one of those if you wish! Completely optional of course, but if you have the proper time and opportunity to create a new slogan which complements your pitch - we'll gladly accept it."

what is the current slogan of the brand and are we obliged to use it?

We just received an answer from the client and it really doesn't matter if your ideas are for "shorter or longer TV/Cinema advertising spots". Remember, the outcome of this brief should be on idea basis, not complete production, so feel free to unleash your creativity to 110%! :-)

Hi Barryconvex,
Yes, humour is definitely an option, as well as creating a narrative / dialogue driven spot (instead of a purely musical one), this is completely up to you. So feel free to unleash your creativity (but also, take a look at the "NO NO´s" which are:
- No new logos or pattern suggestions for Man Underwear
- No “cheap sexy humour” and absolutely no sexist allusions which can offend either of the sexes. )

Regarding your other question: I believe this is completely optional as well since we're only talking storyboards, sketch films and/or synopsis here, so it really shouldn't matter if you're uploading ideas for a 10- 15- or 30 sec advertising spot. But we have to check this with the client to be 100% certain, so we'll get back to you later this week regarding this.

Hello,
I have a couple of questions:
Your previous clips seem to be very short (10s.), is that the length you have in mind for this contest as well?
Likewise, you seem to prefer a purely musical soundtrack to a narrative / dialogue driven spot.
Is humor an option?

Hi everyone,
we're so excited to be able to publish this new client brief from Dressmann!
Please let us know if you have any questions and don't forget to check out the downloadable items (logos) or the "underwear-video" for more inspiration.
